With a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Dartmouth CollegeClaire Apuan joined the team as Mechanical Engineer at Cipher Skin, driven by her interest in product development for healthcare and human performance. Claire stated: “Cipher Skin’s platform is based upon predicting failure with authentic data which aligns closely with my drive to use data-based solutions for purposeful engineering.”

Cities such as Denver, that are hubs for tech startups, often bring together groups of like-minded individuals who are focused on making things happen, fast. Reflecting on her experience thus far at Cipher Skin, Claire added: “I am consistently blown away by the intelligence and dedication of my colleagues. Every time we successfully implement something new, it is further proof of the versatility of our product.”

Out of all the tech startups in Denver, Claire saw an opportunity in Cipher Skin’s technology that she couldn’t find anywhere else. Claire stated: “My favorite part about developing our technology is that I have the opportunity to take on projects at different ends of the engineering spectrum and broaden the horizons of my engineering knowledge.” In his article, Henderson added that when it comes to being part of a team: “Innovation can also help develop original concepts while giving the innovator a proactive, confident attitude to take risks and get things done.” It is Cipher Skin’s adoption of this cultural mindset that inspires Claire. She added: “I feel like I came in at a pivotal time for development where the contributions I have are significant and compelling. This definitely comes with the responsibility to do high-quality work, but also means I can have a feeling of ownership over the products we are working on.”
